Does laser marking have any effect on the human body?

The following list lists the various levels of lasers according to the level, as well as what the user should be aware of when using each type.

IEC-Standards

The following are the corresponding meanings of the different laser levels.

Category 1: Lasers under moderately predictable operating conditions, including the use of optical instruments for beam inward viewing, safety.

Class 1M: Lasers that emit lasers with wavelengths between 302.5 nm and 4,000 nm, which are safe under moderately predictable operating conditions, but may be dangerous if the user uses the optics within the beam.

Category 2: Eye protection mechanisms that emit visible radiation, wavelengths between 400 nm and 700 nm, and often produce an annoying reaction, including blink reflections. This response can be expected to provide adequate protection under moderately predictable operating conditions, including the use of optical instruments for inward viewing of the beam.

Class 2M: Radiates visible light at wavelengths between 400 nm and 700 nm, and typically produces annoying photoprotective mechanisms, including blink reflections. However, if the user is using optics within the beam, fixation output laser can be more dangerous.

Class 3R: The wavelength of the laser emitted is between 302.5nm and 106nm, and the direct inward view of the beam is potentially dangerous, but the degree of danger is lower than that of the Class 3B laser, and the manufacturing requirements and control measures adopted by the user are lower than those used for the Class 3B laser. The achievable emission limit is within five times that of a Class 2 AEL with wavelengths between 400 nm and 700 nm, and within five times that of a Class 1 AEL in other wavelength ranges.

Class 3B: Lasers that are often dangerous when exposed to a beam. (i.e. within NOHD (Rated Visual Danger Distance)). Fixation diffuse reflex is generally safe.

Category 4: Lasers that can also produce harmful diffuse reflections. They can cause skin burns and can also form fires. Extreme care is required to use them.

CO2 laser markers (ML-G series) and YAG laser markers (MD-H series) are classified as Class 4 lasers.
